Handmade Pottery from South-West England
Hi there, fellow pottery lover! Welcome to this little corner of the Internet, where I bring unique handmade pottery pieces to life. Here, in the beautiful South-West of England, my passion for traditional ceramic making is combined with a modern rustic touch to create one-of-a-kind pottery items that infuse charm, comfort, and homely vibes wherever they're placed.
Each ceramic mug, bowl, plate, and vase is handcrafted with love and meticulous attention, transcending mere functionality to tell a story of its own. These pieces, alive with personality, mirror the beauty of my surroundings and my creative journey.
Handmade Ceramics UK – Sourced in Cornwall. Crafted in Devon.
Based in Devon, I create my handmade pottery using stoneware clay from one of Britain's last family-run clay pits situated in nearby Cornwall. This choice of material ensures that each item, whether it's a pottery mug for your morning coffee or decorative ceramics to adorn your dining room, carries a piece of local heritage and craftsmanship.
FAQs About Handmade Pottery
Is your handmade pottery food safe?
Absolutely! Eating off something that looks good and is safe for you and your family is important. My pottery for the home is sealed with food-safe glazes, so you can serve your meals with peace of mind and a touch of beauty.
What types of pottery items do you create?
I specialize in creating functional pottery pieces, such as standard drinkware and dinnerware, as well as functional art for daily use and decoration.
I make three main handmade pottery collections:
- MERRY MUSTARD: Yellow-Green Stoneware Ceramics
- WHITE IMPATIENCE: White-Blue Stoneware Ceramics
- GREY COINCIDENCE: Brown-Grey Stoneware Ceramics

Is your pottery dishwasher-safe?
Yes, my pottery is dishwasher-safe. However, while all handmade tableware can totally handle the dishwasher, handwashing the more delicate pieces, like tiny vases and bowls with thin walls, will help them look their best. It's like giving your special pieces a little extra TLC.
Are your handmade ceramics microwaveable?
Absolutely. Everything I make is fired at over 1,250 degrees Celsius, so it can definitely withstand the microwave. But please keep in mind that ceramics retain heat, so use caution when handling hot items.
Why choose handmade pottery?
There are many reasons to choose handmade pottery, including:
- One-of-a-kind pieces: Handmade pottery is not mass-produced, so each piece is unique and has its own character. You won't find the same exact piece in anyone else's home.
- Support for local pottery makers: By purchasing British pottery from a local potter or UK online store, you are directly supporting a small business and an artist's livelihood.
- High-quality and durable: Handcrafted studio pottery is made with care and attention to detail, making it more durable than mass-produced pieces. Plus, the deliberate imperfections add to its charm and character.
- Environmentally friendly: Handmade pottery uses natural materials and techniques, making it a more sustainable choice for your home. Plus, you can often find pieces made with recycled or upcycled materials.
- Perfect for gifting: Handmade ceramics make a thoughtful, stunning gift for any occasion. You can even have personalized pieces made to order for a truly special touch.
