Rustic Teapots in White and Blue with a Sandy Light-Brown Base

Every teapot is individually hand-thrown on my potters’ wheel before being fired with a white clay-slip wash that resembles breaking waves over the raw sand-colored clay at the centre of this coastal design. The piece is completed with a dramatic inky blue smudge, giving each teapot a Nordic minimalism feel.

The clear and simple form of the modern rustic teapot carries the movement of the coast, where the delicate white glaze and confident dot adapt to the shape, giving each piece remarkable fluidity.

Teapots - Handcrafted in my Devonshire Pottery Studio

Using locally produced Cornish stoneware clay, I make small-batch ceramic tableware and clay art objects for everyday use and decoration.

Like every other piece I produce, each rustic farmhouse teapot has subtle variations that make it unique and original. So, when you receive your teapot, it’s nice to know that no one will have exactly the same pot in their home.

These little differences in my stoneware teapots are how I communicate with you about the relationship I have with clay. Using local stoneware clay deepens my bond with the material, allowing me to work with it spontaneously and sensitively, which results in the artisanal originality of the studio’s collections.
