Small White Side Plates for Everyday Dining

The White Impatience side plates are tableware for the conscious modern kitchen; the sandy tones of the clay balancing with the intuitively hand-painted white slip that adds texture and interest. A spot of dark blue glaze is applied in the centre of each plate, a focal point that adds a modern and unexpected edge to the pottery range.

I achieve the matt finish with a special transparent glaze that retains the character of the clay and the artistic way with which each plate is hand-painted in response to the plate in front of me.

Handmade Coastal Dinnerware

All my ceramics are hand-thrown in small batches from a Devonshire pottery studio, using Cornish stoneware clay sourced responsibly from a local family business.

By working this way, I am able to create unique tableware that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. My work is deliberately in tune with the clay, embracing the wonkiness that occurs during throwing and celebrating every item as a beautifully unique final product.
