Hand-thrown and hand-glazed ceramic ramen bowls with a straight open shape. Part of my WHITE IMPATIENCE tableware collection.

This charming large ceramic ramen bowl is perfect for serving a range of foods, from salad to soup. Their size and open shape also make them ideal for serving side dishes, perfect for formal and informal dining at any time of day.

Multipurpose Large Ceramic Ramen Bowls

Each ceramic ramen bowl is finished with a soft white clay slip that harmonises with the stoneware clay for a classically minimal look. The white slip is hand-painted instinctively on the exterior, while on the interior of the bowl it is painted in a spiral through the bowl, a crescendo of intention that mirrors a breaking wave. A dot of blue is placed in the centre of each bowl; a definitive mark made in response to the movement of the clay and glaze itself, bringing the bowl to life.

Coastal and cool, the earthy tones are subdued by the whitewash effect glaze for an aesthetic, modern, and timeless finish.

The handmade nature of stoneware ceramics means that natural variations occur across the bowls to create charm and form a delicate agility that invites you to touch, hold and enjoy each unique bowl.

I throw each ceramic ramen bowl with a mindful innocence, embracing the marks I leave in the process, allowing the form to speak to me as I apply the glaze. Every large ceramic bowl is wheel-thrown at my Devonshire pottery studio, using Cornish stoneware clay sourced responsibly from a local business, allowing me to continue to support pottery in the South-West.

By considering the nature of the clay through every step of the process, I create distinctive stoneware to last a lifetime.
